Garden Cottage

What a cute little cottage, small, but had everything needed for a comfortable stay.

The grounds were well kept. In a rural setting which meant peace and quiet, just what we needed. Fresh flowers, milk and biscuits as a welcome pack, lovely.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting,in easy reaching distance to the coast.

great place to get away from hustle and bustle of normal life.

The accomodation was exactlly as expected quiet comfy and stress free special thanks to stuart who was very helpful and friedly and kept the grounds imacculate no hesitation in staying there again.

This is the second time we've stayed at the garden cottage and it is a fabulous place to spend a relaxing week, the host were also fantastic and friendly.

Would definitely recommend them and we will come back again.

We spent an extremely enjoyable week in Garden Cottage.

Sarah and Stuart were very welcoming and suggested various places to visit during our stay. The cottage was spotless and comfortable, and the location was so peaceful. We visited Norwich, Southwold, Thetford, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Banham Zoo, and Diss; all these locations are within an hour's drive. We hope to return for another visit soon.

What a Beautiful little peaceful place.

We loved our short stay. It was the 1st time we were taking out rescue doberman away as a trial run. The only thing we would say is a smart TV would have been nicer for cozy nights in. Also perhaps a mirror on the wall in the bedroom next to the little dressing shelf. Great having a hair dryer but no mirror to see what your doing. The place itself is small compact but very comfortable, clean a tiny home from home. I was worried finding chicken coop in the garden with our dog being so reactive, but he was just fantastic with them and loved just watching them. We would and probably will be recommending the place and coming back for another visit. Thanks a million.

The cottage was lovely.

Quiet, compact & cosy, as well as very clean. It was situated in a very quiet countryside area(similar to where we live) & suited us perfectly for our needs, thank you.

Friendly hosts.

Most accommodating. Cottage, a little tight, but adequate . Quiet garden and easy access to various country and coastal amenities.

This cottage was just delightful

This is a lovely compact cottage but, is enough for a short stay or get away for 2.

Lovely area for walks too.

Pleasant cottage in remote area south of Norwich - nice and quiet Great for seeing Norfolk and Suffolk Friendly owners

Cozy cottage with everything you need.

Sarah and Stuart were always available should you require any advice. Definitely will return as it’s a central location for exploring. It also has many pubs with great food just a short drive away.

Cozy cottage for a break in the Norfolk/Suffolk countryside.

Thick, soft towels, good blackout curtains.

Property is compact, as per description, but a good base for exploring the area.

Thank you Sarah and Stuart for amazing place so relaxing we had everything we needed there so so homely and lovely views and dog walking in the area thank you again for amazing holiday missing it all ready ❤️ Barbara and Barry and Buster 0

Absolutely wonderful time.

. we loved the cottage and, as many have said before us, we will be returning.

Garden Cottage is quietly situated in the grounds of the owners house (the owners, Sarah and Stuart, are friendly and approachable without being intrusive) with access to a shared, well maintained, lawn area off a small private patio.

There are open westerly views across fields from the patio; fantastic sunsets! The cottage is compact but has everything required for a comfortable stay; our party consisted of 2 adults and a greyhound. There is a shortage of general storage/hanging space, especially in the bedroom area. The shower/loo area is small but the shower is top notch! There is a small step from the kitchen in to the lounge area which could be an issue for anyone with poor mobility. Plenty of safe, pleasant, dog walking close by (the local lanes are generally quiet of traffic). All in all, a lovely place to spend a week and explore what Norfolk and Suffolk have to offer!

Lovely couple and nice area.

Cottage was a bit tired and settee & bed uncomfortable. Freezer was full of ice so struggled to get anything in.

Great place to stay warm cosy Ideal for 2 and a dog Had a lovely time

Lovely location and great place to stay and explore the area.

No doubt it is cosy but it’s also perfect for 2. We really enjoyed our stay so thank you. Steve & Carolyn

Stunning cottage perfect for a break away.

Ideal if wanting to visit surrounding areas. Fantastic amenities. Thoughtful touches from the owner as simple as milk biscuits and flowers. Would highly recommend this beautiful cottage.

Great little place as a base for us to visit family.

Use written directions as provided by owner if you want to get there directly, we had a few cross country expeditions with sat nav:)) Highly reccommended.

Quite, tidy, a little smaller then I was led to believe

Very relaxing and quiet, had entertainment with the chicken in the garden.

A very nice walk for the dog just four miles down the road. Very nice welcome by the owners.

A great place to stay with friendly hosts

A cosy cottage.

Ideal for a few days get away from everything. It is quiet, well laid out. Useful garden area on which to exersice a dog, which we did. Nearby ia a lovely patch of woodland, part of the Woodland Trust, close enough for longer human and dog exercise. Due to adverse weather we resorted to bing watching of TV soaps. When able we did manage a couple of outings. Close by is the GOODIES food hall. A must go to place.

Fabulous cottage , spotlessly clean , beautiful area , lovely owners , fabulous setting , a true gem of a place , relaxing , lots to do in the area , romantic retreat truly it was , will return .

Perfect cosy little cottage for 2 and our little dog.

Had a great stay in this incredibly quiet and peaceful location situated in the middle of Norfolk giving perfect access all around to explore the coast and towns in land. Cottage had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable, property spotlessly clean throughout on arrival. This place is not a mansion in terms of size but was exactly as it was advertised and we would not change it. Would definitely come again. So if you are looking for a well priced small get away look no further….

The cottage was lovely a bit smaller than expected the fly situation was horrendous however half way through our stay the owner did send some men in to spray cottage however in our opinion it didn't work, garden was lovely it was a shame it wasn't fenced off to allow my dog a free run.

But on the whole the holiday was lovely and the owners very pleasant

Really enjoyed my dog friendly stay.

Lovely walks. The cottage is very small but well equipped and I found it comfortable. My only negative is that I thought there was an enclosed garden but there isn't. My dog required a visit to the garden in the early hours so, there I was wandering around in my pyjamas at 2am. Even if there were a little fencing around the patio doors, that would really help. Owners very helpful when I needed towels to wipe Micky's feet. Very friendly and would happily visit again for the walks. Sorry about setting the fire alarm off with my toast! Angie

Great place to stay.

Host, location and accommodation all great... Nice walk to the local pubs in the evening too

Had a lovely week here.

Comfy bed. Cosy warm cottage. Milk and biscuits was a nice touch thank you. Everything was just right for us 2 and a dog.

I had a good enough stay, but found the kitchen area very cramped, and the shower went from a really fast flow to almost a trickle in a week.

We needed a few days away, having both worked through out the pandemic with no chance of a vacation.

This cottage was idyllic, comfortable, warm and not overly expensive. Tucked away from the rat race, we enjoyed a few country walk's with our puppy who also loved his stay. To our host's of the cottage many thanks for making it perfect time away.

A lovely bijou cosy cottage for 2 plus our border collie.

Had everything we needed for a 4 night stay in January. I took extra rugs and hot water bottles but totally unnecessary as it was very cosy. Very quiet and totally restful. Great farm shop 1.5 miles away with lovely cafe attached.

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location with beautiful surroundings.

Good facilities, WIFI and very comfy. Would recommend.

We left after the first night, as we are both in our 60,s.

We found the double bed so uncomfortable. My husband slept on the floor! The lounge furniture was also very uncomfortable! So disappointed ☹️! The accommodation, is fine for one person , definitely not two. Far too small .

A lovely cottage in a great location to explore the area.

A very peaceful setting with lovely views. The flowers and biscuits were a nice touch and appreciated.

The pictures and description do not justify what this cottage deserves.

Beautifully set out and a lovely location. A perfect base to explore Norfolk and Suffolk, on arrival a lovely bouquet of flowers and pack of biscuits. We met the hosts, Sarah and Stuart who were friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone wanting a short or long break. A Brilliant week's holiday

It was very relaxing and quiet.

You had every thing in the cottage needed for a break

Lovely and cozy cottage.

Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hosts. Will highly recommend.

Well when we arrived we were disappointed with the size of the property being so small.

Then we heard the bird scarers going off with a loud bang and then another loud bang this was both sides of the property. And when we went to the local pub for lunch it was closed down but when I contacted them before we left they gave me a email voucher for 20% off our meals? Strange. With regard to the furniture in the front room wonse you sat down it was so low it was difficult to get up again. We also had to wash all the cutlery and plates before we used them in actual fact the utensils still had old food on them. The other problem was the the flys that continued to buss arround you even when your in bed I suppose that's what the spatter was for. With regard to the shower it didn't look like it had been descaled for years. I feel that the PRICE charged for a week is extremely high considering the cottage is a old out building with additions to it ,in actuall fact it isn't a cottage at all. The PRICE of a weeks stay is extremely high

Nice cottage probably due soon for a lick of paint and freshen up.

Bed and pillows very comfortable and though small the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. Lovely rural location.

Very quiet and peaceful location.

Cosy cottage.

lovely cottage in a nice location, plenty to see and do.

A beautiful little cottage retreat that had everything we needed would highly recommend.

Great location and super cosy.

Brilliant stay, such a pretty part of Norfolk.

The cottage went above and beyond and we were so impressed. So so cosy and a lovely escape. Having some biscuits on arrival was a lovely touch. We loved seeing the chickens running around every day. Only thing we would say is the low ceiling as you go from the lounge to the kitchen, a sign would be helpful for us tall folk as we knocked our head a few times. Other than that, everything was just perfect!

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location.

It was a lovely touch to have a packet of luxury biscuits and milk in the cottage when we arrived.

There was a great array of cooking items, which we really hadn’t expected. The cottage is very rural and although we were next to the owner’s house, we get hassled. We would definitely use this cottage and Sykes Holidays again.

Very compact accommodation, perfect for 2 people.

Ideal location for seeing both Norfolk and Suffolk. Unfortunately good WiFi and phone reception so hard to really got away from it all but lovely holiday

The cottage is quite small, as I was on my own it was cosy, but if I had shared with a partner or I was a big lady it might have been a bit squashed.

A fabulous little retreat.

Had an excellent few days, lovely quiet location.

Lovely cottage very well presented everything you needed was provided

This is a delightful cottage in a quiet rural location providing an opportunity to get away from it all but with easy access to Norwich, Diss, the Broads, the coast and other Norfolk attractions.

There are excellent pubs/restaurants in the vicinity. The owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. It exceeded our expectations for a restful break.

Fantastic location and base to explore the lovely area.

Piecefull and very quiet. Owners very helpful and polite. We really enjoyed our stay and will recommend it to our friends and family. We both lead busy lives and this was just the break we needed.

The holiday was great.

The owners were friendly. Only slight negative was the kitchen area. Very small awkward to use.

The cottage is set in a lovely quiet peaceful setting.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and had left milk, biscuits and fresh flowers for our arrival, a lovely touch. We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage itself is very cozy. It was easy to reach places we wished to visit. This is the third holiday we have had using Sykes Cottages and would certainly use them again and recommend them.

We had a wonderful stay.

Other reviews mention that the kitchen is a bit dated, this may be true but the bed was extremely comfortable and the linen and towels were immaculate. Would love to stay again.

The kitchen needs rethinking and pots pans and utensils need up dating.

Bathroom area could do with shower basket on the wall for shampoo and shower gel. Beautiful cottage and quite location and very relaxing.

If there had been a photo of the kitchen facilities at this property I would not have booked it There were inadequate cooking utensils and some of them were dirty However all other areas were clean and the linen was of good quality Definately not for those who wish to cook their own food

Quiet location that suited us down to the ground.

Everything was fine even the weather was kind.
