“Disappointing stay.”
Loose paving slabs, dirty facials, hair and smudge in kitchen drawer, two lights not working in bathroom, oven that didn’t work, cracked and chipped plates to name but a few issues that we had and quite honestly spoiled the whole holiday. I will never use this place ever again. Some of the conversations we had with the owners, on the second to last day of our booking Hello Stephen, discovered you had left early as you were disappointed! Can I just say, you are the first visitors to Kingfisher Lodge to leave such a negative review....our numbers are in the book, had you of contacted either of us, we would of done our very best to have righted anything you were disappointed with Regards Trudie & Wes They didn’t. I wrote: - Hi Trudie, Yes we left early due to the dissatisfaction of the resolution to the issues that we did raise with you on Tuesday. I accept that you had replaced the plates, which incidentally you knew about before you went away, and could have quite easily left a note stating that you already knew that this was the case. I hasten to add that without a fully functioning oven, we had to eat most of our meals away from the cottage which has had a very negative result to our bank account. Now if you wish to take this further, do let me know. But I have already instigated a conversation with the booking agency. As for the extra day for you to rectify your issues that we listed before your next guests arrive. Incidentally, my wife and myself have taken ourselves to a different venue due to the health and safety risks that were pointed out to you by myself that has had no resolution to date. The owners wrote:- Firstly we did not know about the " cooker knoberer" which we believed the previous holiday guests would of mentioned as they were kind enough to let us know re plates n lights in bath....yes, we were aware of plate cracks , but as I mentioned, as soon as we got home from being away ourselves, they were replaced....as advised...all other repairs would b carried out ASAP to which you had no objection to.... As a note...the holiday makers before you had no issues with the knob on the oven...and as mentioned, re slabs, u where advised this would be rectified ASAP... I wrote: I am not getting into an argument with you over the issues. We pointed them out in good time to get a resolution as you stated asap. To date (Friday 23rd May) nothing apart from the plates was rectified. I pointed out two things that are a heath and safety issue, and nothing had been done to rectify these two major issues. I am by trade an Estate Manager and part of my role is health and safety. I work in an outdoor education environment and when a guest mentions anything, it gets rectified with a realistic time frame. You had the time frame but yet nothing was done. Even in your comment book, there were mentions of the hot water temperature being excessive and whilst I acknowledged that fact, I took the necessary precautions not to burn myself, but again you have not rectified that. There are a set of regulations called L8 and would suggest you read up on these, as well as getting the path and oven sorted before your next guests check in with you. As I have said before, I have always felt safe in the cottages that are on the bookings website, however I did not here.
