“I found the cottage to be conveniently situated for visits to The Broads , lovely beaches and Norwich .”

The garden is completely safe for a dog or children and there are several peaceful walks from the doorstep that we enjoyed. Mostly Whitegates is very clean ( a couple of issues that the owner is going to resolve) and very comfortable . I hope to be able to go back.

The property

Positioned in a quiet, no through road, surrounded by beautiful Norfolk countryside and with views from every window upstairs, is this lovely, semi-detached holiday home.

It is ideal for families, friends and couples looking to explore the Norfolk Broads and all the attractions it has to offer.

Entrance is gained from the front of the property and into a tiled porchway, where you can store coats and walking boots.

The living/dining room boasts views across green fields as you eat at the dining table, and sumptuous armchairs with a country feel.

From here you can access the galley-style kitchen, with sufficient fixtures allowing you to enjoy a comfortable break away from home.

A cloakroom completes the ground floor, making good use of the space, with a small hand basin integrated on top of the WC.

Climb the plush carpet to the first floor, where you will find two double bedrooms and a bathroom.

The front bedroom is spacious with ample storage, bedside cabinets and views over a patchwork of rolling, walking country.

The second bedroom allows you to wake up to the same endless views, as you enjoy your morning cup of tea from the warmth of your bed.

Fitted units not only add a sleek finish to the room but are a great way of saving space.

The bathroom is bright and clean, occupying a shower over the bath.

To the outside you have the choice of seating area to the front and rear for alfresco dining and the garden is fully enclosed for children and dogs to play safely.

This property sits about ¾ mile outside Ludham and is just 6 miles from Wroxham, while the rest of the Broads, How Hill and Bewilderwood are also only a few minutes away.

Norwich is a mere 40 minutes from here, and there are no end of local attractions within a 20-mile radius.

The National Trust's Horsey Mill is an iconic landmark, which can be explored on foot, following a wildlife rich trail.

Brograve Mill is in the parish of Sea Palling, a Grade II listed building constructed of red brick.

Both are around 9 miles from the property and well worth a visit.

How Hill Nature Reserve offers abundant walks, a museum of a marshman life in Toad Hole Cottage, and beautiful scenery.

Choose this base for a memorable holiday in East Anglia.

About the location

LUDHAM

Great Yarmouth 13.5 miles.

Situated in the heart of the beautiful Norfolk Broads is the attractive rural Norfolk village of Ludham. Surrounded on 3 sides by the rivers Ant, Bure and Thurne and its own small broad, Womack Water with its array of moored boats and small shops, it is a lovely, picturesque place to holiday. At the centre of the village is the crossroads, near to the beautiful thatched church of St Catherine’s and several pretty thatched cottages, the local pub, village store, butcher’s and tea rooms. To the north west of the village is How Hill Nature Reserve with nature trails and a museum of a marshman life in Toad Hole Cottage. The village offers a good network of footpaths with plenty of wildlife to see. In summer the beach at Sea Palling is a hub of activity with jet skiiers and the sand dunes of Winterton-on-Sea offer secluded sun traps perfect for relaxing. Spend a day exploring the broads in one of the sailboats and river cruisers which can be hire from Hunters Yard in Ludham. The traditional seaside town of Great Yarmouth is just a short drive away and offers plenty of attractions and family fun. The award-winning attraction Bewilderwood can be found just outside Wroxham, which is a must visit for children and adults, with tree houses, wires, jungle bridges and boat rides.
