“The Barn is spacious and beautiful, and very private with a walled garden and a field at the back.”

. The furniture and fittings are comfortable and luxurious and there is everything you could possibly need, including games, books and two TV's that have everything on them you could want. Wifi is very good and there are boosters upstairs, so no areas with bad signal. The kitchen is exceptionally well kitted out with crockery and pans and a selection of knives that actually cut ( a rarity in our experience). The garden is beautifully laid out. The French windows in the sitting room lead out onto a large terrace with a big table and chairs, behind which is a huge lawn for running around and playing football etc. on. There is also an adjoined paved area outside the dining area, which houses a barbecue. We were there in October, but would have spent our evenings outside if we had been there in summer. Bedrooms are all really luxurious and comfy, with John Lewis bedclothes and feather duvets and pillows. The swimming pool belongs to a neighbour, so there is a fee and a booking system. Just round the corner from the Barn, it has two well equipped changing rooms and we used it every day and loved it. We were fortunate to get really great weather so we went to Horsey Gap, a 15 minute drive away, and marveled at the numbers of seals swimming really close to shore and the size of the bull seals . They come onto the beach from November to breed and are hanging about in October in huge numbers. I think this was the highlight of my trip, and I highly recommend going there if you are at all interested in nature. Our second seaside trip was to Sea Palling, a couple of miles up the coast from Horsey. There are a few shops and cafes and it is slightly commercial. Here the water is calm and it's perfect for children to play. There is sand and gravel and miles of beach. And then there was the coming back to the comfort of the Barn. Caroline is a really helpful and responsive host. She arranged for feather-free bedding for one of our party with allergies, and she also organised for a high chair and a travel cot for the baby. She responded to all messages immediately and left a bottle of wine, milk and some delicious Norfolk cookies to welcome us. We loved our few days and would recommend the Barn for families or groups of friends.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback and recommendations. We had the most incredible trip to Horsey last Christmas and we were treated to an abundance of gorgeous seals and pups on the beach! Very special place. We follow the National Trust walk which is a circular walk taking you to Horsey Beach, famous for its seal colony, and then through a beautiful Horsey village. It’s a lovely walk in an area of outstanding beauty as well as the Broads National Park, a great stroll with gentle coastal and sweeping Norfolk Broads landscapes. We are thrilled you had such an amazing stay and really hope you return again!! Property Owner

There is also table tennis which can be assembled indoors or outside, providing hours of competitive family fun.

On warmer days, take your festivities out into the rear garden, where you can delight in some alfresco dining on the patio with the help of the barbecue whilst the rest of the group gets competitive over a game of football!

When sleep calls, refresh with a dip in the bath or a soak under the shower before you finally retire for a well-earned rest in one of the four decadent bedrooms, including two king-sizes with their very own en-suite bath and shower rooms.

There are many picturesque villages to visit and plenty of waterside pubs and restaurants to stop off at too.

For beach lovers the seaside village of Happisburgh with its iconic candy-striped lighthouse is just a brief drive away.

This is one of many beautiful local sandy beaches which are dog friendly too.

Several attractions are located a brief car drive from your new lodgings, such as Wroxham Miniature Worlds, Wroxham Barns, Museum of the Broads, and the BeWILDerwood Norfolk theme park, whilst further afield, the noteworthy locations of Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth, and the National Trust site of Blickling Hall are all worth a visit.
