“We absolutely loved it at Lanthorn Cottage.”
The 200 year old cottage is lovely, and the long garden was perfect for our dog to run up and down with a ball. The summer house was used by us daily, for reading a book or watching an ipad in the lovely peaceful surroundings.
The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living room was cozy in the evenings.
The beach was a short 10 minute walk away, through a field with a public footpath, turning left as you come out of the cottage road onto Grub Street, and then turn right off of Grub Street when you see the opening of the field. There's a clear walkway through the field, and then walk along the back of the caravan park and keep heading towards the lighthouse (zoom in on google maps or google earth, you can clearly see the footpath).
There is a Tesco about 15 minutes drive away, but we've been to Eccles on Sea previously so knew our way around the area.
I would always say to people who are looking to book a holiday anywhere, to do your research before finally booking. Although Sykes wont give you the full address of the cottage prior to your full payment being made, it does show you where the property is on the map and it's not that difficult to work out where the cottage is from the image shown on the website, or you can google the rough address and see whats local to the cottage, and where the beach is.
I would say that we will probably be back to Lanthorn Cottage at some point, as we loved how quiet it was there, surrounded by fields and birdsong.
The Housekeeper Siobhan was amazing, she gave us all the information we needed before we got there and nothing was too much trouble, not that we had any problems at all. The only reason we contacted her was to ask a couple of questions before we arrived and to thank her when we left.
All in all, we would highly recommend Lanthorn Cottage.
