About the location

DICKLEBURGH

Pulham Market 3.6 miles; Diss 5.5 miles.

The village of Dickleburgh offers a thriving shop and Post Office. A little further away is the village of Pulham Market, where you will find the Crown pub and restaurant, opposite the village green. This is a tastefully decorated traditional pub with good beer and wine. Just five miles away is the picturesque market town of Diss. This town is a must visit for anyone interested in nature, history or architecture. Nestled in the countryside of Waveney Valley, it offers a swimming pool, sports centre, a golf course, a delightful array of specialist shops and eating places, a traditional lively market every Friday and a farmers’ market on the second Saturday of each month. Approximately 2 miles from Diss is Bressingham, with its Steam Museum, 17 acres of beautiful gardens, garden centre, restaurant and the Dad’s Army collection where one can wander through Walmington-on-Sea with its original props and vehicles from the TV series. Other local attractions include Banham Zoo, the 100th Bomb Group Museum and historic Redgrave and Lopham Fen Nature Reserves. The area is also fantastic for walkers and cyclists, where walkers can explore sections of the Boudicca Way, a wonderful 40 mile walk from Diss to the medieval city of Norwich. Another neighbouring market town is Harleston. This friendly town offers charming individual shops, good cafes, several restaurants and inns, an art gallery, museum and a weekly market. Slightly further away are the pretty towns of Bungay and Beccles. Visit the latter to access the Norfolk Broads, explore the marshlands or hire a motor boat for a day on the river. Delicious food beckons from the many pubs and restaurants in and around both towns. Further afield is the Suffolk Coast with wildlife rich wet lands, shingle beaches and historical towns and villages, including the famous Southwold and Aldeburgh, and nearby is the well-known RSPB reserve of Minsmere. Dickleburgh is located almost equidistant from Norwich, Ipswich, Thetford and Bury St Edmunds.
